Sleepy in Delhi

Yesterday, I saw 'Sleepless in Seattle' on Set Pix. A slow, romantic comedy starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. It was..... really slow. :-| It starts out well, with Johna, Sam's son, calling up a Radio station on Christmas eve, expressing his wish to find his dad a girlfriend as, his dad's wife and effectively, Johna's mom, died a year and a half ago. Initially mortified on realizing what his son was upto, Sam goes on to narrate almost every little thing that he loved about his late wife to Dr. Marsha (a lot like loveguru of Radio City.. ;-P ) and all the radio listeners of the US (including Annie). Following which, Annie (who was previously happily engaged to Walter... or so she thought), writes a letter to Sam, like, a thousand others.

The rest of the movie is a drag. It got really boring towards the end. Watch it if you must. But, am I too late in writing a movie review that released in 1993? Maybe... but hell I just saw it yesterday. Anyway, its the captivating innocence of Tom Hanks, that had me interested throughout the movie. (remember the 'The Terminal', 'Forrest Gump' and even 'Castaway'... its almost like a part of him.. the innocence, I mean.)

OK.. bye
